SUR LE JOURNALISME…

Full PhD Scholarships on Media Studies are offered by a special funding scheme at Autonomous University of Barcelona.

The main aim of this program is the recruitment of excellent and international graduated students with a Media Studies or equivalent degree who want to obtain a PhD in 4 years in Barcelona. The scholarship fee will be around 1300 euros/month.

A part from their research work, the accepted candidates should give low complexity teaching, as tutorials and workshops. The maximum teaching charge will be 4,5 credits ECTS the first and fourth year and 9 credits ECTS the second and the third year of the scholarship. This is why a good knowledge of Spanish is important, although no application will be rule out if a good English level is accredited.

L’Observatoire européen de l’audiovisuel, qui fait partie du Conseil de l’Europe, cherche à recruter un ou une analyste spécialisé(e) dans le secteur de le télévision. Cette personne travaillera sur un projet de base de données qui contiendra toutes les chaînes de télévision en Europe. Le projet aura une durée initiale de 5 ans.

The blogs, which can be in French or English, can cover general-interest or specialist topics, and must be freely available over the Internet. They must be individual publications and regularly updated by their creators, who use them as a platform to express their views in writing and/or using photos, audio or video. They must feature hyperlinks and the possibility for users to provide feedback.

Pour sa première édition, en juin 2007, le concours sera présidé par Emmanuel Chain, journaliste de télévision et ancien élève du CFJ.

La Commission franco-américaine d’échanges universitaires et culturels offre des bourses d’études de six semaines aux enseignants, chercheurs et professionnels qui souhaitent participer à des séminaires thématiques en culture et civilisation américaines.

L’un des séminaires s’intitule Journalisme et Médias aux Etats-Unis. L’idée est de réunir 18 chercheurs intéressés (et sélectionnés) à la free press, la liberté de presse, les questions légales et éthiques du journalisme, etc.

Journalists from across Europe and the United States are invited to apply for the European Journalism-Fellowships, offered this year for the 9th time by the Journalisten-Kolleg of the Free University of Berlin. Participants are given the opportunity to take a two-semester leave from their professional positions and spend a sabbatical year at the Freie Universitaet, widening their knowledge while pursuing a major research project. At the same time, the programme enables participants to network with professional colleagues from Eastern and Western Europe and the United States. The programme starts in October 2007 and ends in July 2008. Highly qualified journalists in either staff positions or freelance employment with several years of professional experience are eligible to apply. Written proof certifying good knowledge of the German language is required for participation (Geothe Institut, DAAD). The most important element of the fellowship application is a proposal for a scientific-journalistic project to be pursued in Berlin.
